Bamey's Restro Cafe, Bangalore

At Koramangala 5th Block, Bangalore.

As I was in a mood to have some good Oriental Food, Bamey’s was my dinner spot, chosen by my friends. Even on a holiday, the place wasn’t very crowded. The ambience was ok, consisting of hints of Asian themed decor.

So, here’s how everything started falling apart. We waited for around 30 Mins for the server to take our order. Some of them completely ignored us, even when we tried calling them out.

When finally someone came, here’s what we ordered – Jhol Momos, 8 Treasure Fried Rice, Non-Veg Khaja Set, Chicken Sekuwa & some Cold Drinks.

Jhol Momos – This Nepalese Chicken Momos were the best dish among all of the ones we ordered here.

8 Treasure Fried Rice – Stir-fried rice with eight types of vegetables, sauteed in aromatic Chinese sauce. I love Fried Rice but this 8 Treasure didn’t exactly please me very much.

Chicken Sekuwa – Chicken marinated in Nepalese Spices & grilled. Served with Peanut & Chilli Sauce. Chicken pieces on the skewers are always exciting and this Sekuwa was good in taste too.

Non-Veg Khaja Set – A Bamey’s Special Newari platter which consists of Mutton Gravy, Chicken Choyila, Aloo Tama Jhol, Curd, Aloo ka Achar, Fried Egg, Urad Dal Cutlet and Tomato Chutney with Steamed Rice/ Crispy Rice Flakes. If you are confident enough to eat a proper Asian Thali by yourself, then order this only. It took all 4 of us to complete this not-so-good meal.

CONCLUSION:

Food: 3/5 Ambience: 3/5 Service: 2/5

TBFC's SCORE: 3/5

After a disappointing experience, I don’t think I’ll visit this place again.
