Garam Dharam, Delhi

At Connaught Place, New Delhi.

A family meetup was decided and this restro was slotted down for lunch. The ambience here is really nice. It is a Dhaba themed restro and also the Bollywood actor, Dharmendra plays a huge role in its rustic filmy theme.

If you are a Dharmendra fan, then this place is definitely for you. You can see the dialogues framed on the walls, the music played were all from Dharmendra’s films & the iconic motorcycle from Sholay was the main prop, where the people enjoyed taking selfies & photos.

The menu contains very much of Dhaba inspired dishes including Dharmendra favourites too.

We ordered Mango Lassi, Pyare Mohan Masala Nimbu, Murg Malai Tikka, Tandoori Paneer Tikka, Hara Bhara Kebab, Kurkuri Bhindi, Kadhai Mushrooms, Dal Tadka, Jeera Rice, Chicken Curry with Rice Combo, Garlic Naan & Butter Roti.

Mango Lassi: As it was hot, I went for a good chilled drink along with the food. There were many varieties of Lassi on the menu but I thought Mango flavour would be less risky to try and taste. The taste was good but it wasn’t that chilled though, which is why I didn’t enjoy it that much.

Pyare Mohan Masala Nimbu: Masaledaar Nimbu with Almond flavour. This one was interesting. At least they served this one chilled and it tasted good too.

Murg Malai Tikka: The quantity was sufficient but the taste was not up to the mark.

Tandoori Paneer Tikka: It tasted quite good and was sufficient enough for 4 people.

Hara Bhara Kebab: This dish was not good at all! I’ve eaten a lot of Hara Bhara Kebabs but the one served here didn’t taste as it should.

Kurkuri Bhindi: I was shocked when this dish was served.

Reason – Bhindi was so thinly sliced that I was literally struggling to get its flavour and for me, it was all besan chips there. Not only me, but even my family members also weren’t satisfied with this dish.

Kadhai Mushrooms: This is my favourite Veg dish which I always go for when it comes to ordering Veg North Indian dishes. I was again dissatisfied with what was served here. The taste was not good at all.

Dal Tadka: Seriously? This is one of those basic dishes that all restros manage to make well, but here they still somehow made this a disaster.

Jeera Rice: Yes I would like to mention this. Jeera rice was the only thing on point.

Chicken Curry with Rice Combo: I have eaten a lot of varieties of Chicken Curry, but here what I tasted was literally the worst.

On the positive side, only the service was fast. Each and every dish we ordered was served on time.

CONCLUSION:

Food: 2/5

Ambience: 3.5/5

Service: 4/5

TBFC's SCORE: 2.5/5

Overall, I’m giving 2.5 to this restro only because the food was not up to the mark & not worth the hype. Sorry but never coming back to this place again.
