Macchiato Pizzeria Grill & Bar

At Belapur, Navi Mumbai.

Had a visit around 7.30 in the evening here. As this restro serves Italian, I had no problem in trying out this place. Situated before the starting of the Palm Beach road and beside the electronic store ‘Croma‘, I don’t think it’s a bad idea to open up a restaurant in such area.

The place was vacant, except 2 or 3 tables occupied as I, along with my family, entered this Italian world. The ambience was quite ok and the place looked like what a good Italian restro should be. As the holy ‘ Shravan ‘ was going on, I had to try out only the vegetarian dishes *sob*. In the starting they gave us some bread (complimentary) which was quite fresh, soft and even smelled great. We were here only to have some light food, so we ordered only three dishes. A soup, a pizza and pasta dish….. that too veg *sob again*

The soup:

First of all, we ordered ‘ Minestrone soup’ and the actual soup served to us was ‘ Crème Di Funghi‘. We didn’t call the waiter for exchanging the soup because we were ready to try this one too, but it was a great disaster from the restro’s side to switch the soup without informing us. Now about the soup we actually had – Crème Di Funghi. It was Mushroom puree flavoured along with white wine, fresh thyme and Porchini dust. It wasn’t warm enough and due to this it didn’t felt like we were having a proper soup. Sad ….. nothing extraordinary.

The Pasta:

The pasta I ordered was “Spaghetti Broccolitana“. It was tomato sauce pasta with spaghetti noodles. After such a long time I had ordered a tomato sauce pasta and of course my hopes were high. But it really disappointed me. The sauce was a bit sour or maybe the sauce had to taste like that only but I didn’t like it. There was lots of broccoli in it as the name suggested Broccolitana. Nothing much to say about the pasta as it already started to ruin my palate. All my hopes were now shifted to the pizza I ordered.

The Pizza:

Well, the pizza we ordered was “Ortolana”. It had Tomato, Mozzarella, aubergine, courgette, peppers, cherry tomatoes and red onions. This one too was not exceptional. The taste was bland and was really non-enjoyable.

My mood was already ruined after having the pasta and getting the wrong soup and then the pizza too got on the list. This was the first time I have been disappointed after having my meal in an Italian restro.

CONCLUSION:

Food - 2.5/5

Service - 3/5

Ambience - 3/5

TBFC's SCORE: 3/5

Would like to visit again to try out the non-veg dishes? Maybe not.
