At Connaught Place, New Delhi.
This time while visiting Delhi, I made sure that I visited GT Road at CP. So, I decided to visit this place for dinner with my family. As this place is always full, we had to pre-book the seats.
The ambience is vintage and very cool. They have a live grill on the table too. We opted for Non-Veg dishes. The starters we were served were:
Chicken Tikka, Surkh Jheenga, Chicken Burrah, Seekh Kebab, Chili Fish, Chicken Tangdi.
Every starter served was really good but among them, Chili Fish & Chicken Burrah were my favourites. We were also served various chaats and Palak (Spinach) Chat stood out.
As this is a buffet restro, I tried to taste every dish. Here are the main course dishes:
Mutton Roganjosh, Murgh Makhanwala, Shorshey Maachh, Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce, Murgh Dum Biryani.
Mutton Roganjosh: Mutton Rogan Josh is a Kashmiri style Lamb Curry made with spices like fennel seeds and dry ginger. There are many variations of this dish. Here, the menu reads “Lucknow” alongside the dish name. For me, the dish was ok. My family liked it though.
Murgh Makhanwala: It can be said as a variation of Butter Chicken or Murg Makhni. I don’t prefer Butter Chicken much but this dish tasted great! The buttery flavour in the chicken was too good to miss out.
Shorshey Maachh: It is a Bengali dish where fish is cooked in Mustard and Chilli gravy. The fish tasted fresh and was wonderful with the Mustard gravy. Wonderful dish !!! Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce: This dish was ok. I like Hot Garlic sauce but this one wasn’t as good as I’ve had at other places.
Murgh Dum Biryani: I love biryanis. So, it was mandatory to have this and the taste was good.
This time I was excited about desserts. A variety of desserts were there and I tried almost all of them. I tried Gulab Jamun, Besan Ke Ladoo, Jalebi with Rabri, Rosogulla, Gulab ki Kheer (Sugar-Free), Balushahi, Phirni & Shahi Tukda. Except for Gulab Jamun & Rosogulla, everything was good.
The service was spectacular. The servers made sure everything was proper and the food was served on time.

I really don’t see why this place is always hyped here. The food is good, no doubt, but there are other places too which also have the same concept and serve great food.
